2. The India International Handwoven Fair is the first of its kind in
India to showcase the exclusive products of handloom industry to the buyers of
the world community. The event will showcase the best home textiles in quality
and design from all over India. At this gateway to Internationally acclaimed
handwoven creations from Indian manufacturers and exporters, all the companies

3. The major handloom clusters are Karur, Madurai Kannur &
Panipat, declared as Towns of Export Excellence in the Foreign Trade Policy of
Government of India, where the exportable handloom products like Bed linen,
Table linen, Kitchen linen, Toilet linen, Floor coverings, embroidered textile
materials, curtains etc. are produced for export markets.
4. The mere fact that nearly 585 clusters are prevailing across the
Country, clearly shows the strength and sustainability of Indian handlooms.
Moreover, the fact that the Industry which had produced only traditional fabrics
and dress materials during earlier periods had transformed into an industry
which produces made-ups and home textile items in order to cater to the needs of
the world market, is also evident to prove the nature of flexibility and
adaptability of the handloom industry.
